Comic by diabetic teens sucks more than diabetes itself

Nerds! Two diabetic teens from Kansas created a comic book about diabetes. It's really hard to write this because of my overwhelming urge to scream "NERDS" every few seconds. Yahoo/AP can describe the story for me:

"The comic books tell the stories of children who learn they have diabetes and find themselves visited by Dr. Diabetes. But his wicked intentions are foiled by the heroes of the comics, Omega Boy and later, Mighty Boy."

Super. Two kids have diabetes and want to educate others through a friendly medium. Sounds pretty good, right? Right. Wait, wrong!

Enter hilarious-land:

YEAH

I think these kids should forget about diabetes and get tested for cerebral palsy. Or blindness.

The comics are being sold online at this website which has a cutting edge design right out of 1997, complete with blinking text and a starry background. Please click that link, it's a comic book line run by their father, who apparently also suffers from some disease where the symptom is making hilarious comic books.

"These titles are a unique mix of fantasy and strong reality-based issues that appeal to a cross-section of fans. Whereas young people enjoy the colorful graphics and fantasy elements, the older readers appreciate the stories dealing with issues including drugs, crime, and HIV, issues that are not traditionally covered in mainstream comic books."

I can't get my wallet out fast enough!

For a sample of his awesome work:

Yeah! Current Events!

This comic book is probably set on the fictional homo-erotic island!

Turning back to the two teens, this is their myspace profile.

Can you guess what show they're fans of?

From the Yahoo article:

"Kamaal and Malcolm — who count the Japanese anime series Naruto [NEEEEEERRRRRDDDDDDSSSSS] among their biggest influences — want to create their own animated series and perhaps produce a movie."

"It will always have action and be fun to look at, but it will also be educational," Kamaal says. "We always want to have a message."

Their message: Major diseases don't affect people with talent.

Blog can't read news or something

This is so wittyA blog titled "the mindful mission" (shift key broken?) is reporting today that they are appalled at the differences between the two parties in the United States:

"As I have said for a long time, there is little difference between those that call themselves Democrats and those that call themselves Republicans, especially in terms of foreign policy and the current war in Iraq."

Wicked political commentary right there, folks.

It all started in relation to this article by CNN about how congressional Democrats are going to give President Bush more war funding, this time not tied to a withdrawal date for troops.

Who the hell reads CNN, anyway?

The problem here is that apparently the creative minds behind "the mindful mission" didn't read the whole article, especially the second paragraph:

"Earlier this month, Bush vetoed a war spending bill passed by the Democratically-controlled Congress that included a timetable for withdrawal. The president has insisted that he will not sign any bill that includes such a provision."

It's almost like the President has some sort of control on how different the Democrats get to be.

This "mindful mission" isn't so mindful after all. Really, I think it's mind-LESS. In fact, here is a large image to display my concern about their integrity:

Burn

Take that!

Blogger totally misses the point

Look! Trolls! In a post made today by Seth Godin on his blog, creatively named "Seth's Blog", he links to a nice little essay titled How To Keep Hostile Jerks From Taking Over Your Online Community.

The essay, which is confused at best, summarizes the ongoing issue of angry online community users and their trolling ways. The problem is, in my infallable opinion, three distinct types of users are being confused: The Internet Tough-guy, The Troll and The Angry User.

The problem is, they are all different.

Internet tough-guys can be angry users, but generally aren't, and are rarely trolls. Trolls tend not to actually be angry, but angry users are inherantly trolls. There are trolls that pretend to be the other categories and so on and so on and so on...

The point here is that after reading that essay, which was moderately interesting, I have some grade A commentary to make on it.

Here is what Seth Godin's comments were:

"My take: you can't (and shouldn't) treat all customers the same. It's not clear to me that you can always change the attitude of an angry person. But you can avoid bringing down everyone around them."

What? What are you even talking about? That's not what the essay was about. Either I can't understand what you are trying to say (not likely) or that made no sense.

I don't think Seth actually read that essay. Someone should really write a nasty letter to his web hosting letting them know he links to other websites without so much as reading their contents and then makes comments about it. Sickening, truly sickening.

Next Week - Customer trolls gum stand, brings down all other customers, sale on bananas.

Helllllo book deal!

BlogWatch: Conservative Web Log mostly just links to Glenn Beck

BYAAAAA Conservative Web Log (also known as a "blog" by internet users, also known as "interusers"), Conservative Blog Therapy is a clever cover up, touting itself as:

"A collection of thoughts and links providing much-needed therapy..."

Links, maybe. Where are the thoughts? Introducing a video is not a thought:

"I watched this last night and thought it was worth posting. The video from FOXNEWSFANS is not good quality, but this is an important subject that doesn't get enough play... take a look:"

Weak. And let's not forget summaries are also unacceptable:

"Glenn Becks favorite commercial parodies of 2006...

Hezbollaerobics - "sweating to the jihad", Head Off - "new from exploitico industries...", McDonalds UnHappy Meal - "with one of 4 Inconvenient Truth collector toys...", and more..."

Come on!

I am seriously considering contacting Blogspot (the hosting) and demanding CBT remove "thoughts" from their description. I can only imagine if someone were to land on this site wanting some conservative thoughts, only to be met with conservative links. It would be devastating to an interuser.

Not me, however, I'm a communist. Free Tibet!
