That is so sad. I worry about my oldest messing with the phone or even the radio while driving. Not saying older people (than high school or college age) don't also drive distractedly. Kids just seem more likely to do this sort of thing because they think they're invincible.

I feel so awful for that girl. She has a lot of healing to do, for sure physically, and most likely emotionally.

My own daughter went to a park with some wild rides just this past month, and I was nervous about letting her go. But kids need to have fun. We put so much trust in the management of theme parks and fairs, they really should be inspected more often, more thoroughly, and rides shut down when there's any doubt.
